This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, process, and protect information when users access or use CircuitDigest Cloud, including its dashboards, APIs, MQTT infrastructure, automation services, integrations, notifications, device management systems, and related services.

1. About CircuitDigest Cloud

CircuitDigest Cloud is an IoT and embedded systems cloud platform designed to help developers, engineers, makers, students, businesses, and technology enthusiasts prototype, deploy, monitor, and manage connected devices and automation systems.

The platform supports communication and integration with internet-connected hardware devices including, but not limited to, microcontrollers, development boards, embedded systems, System-on-Modules (SoM), Single Board Computers (SBC), and IoT devices.

Features of the platform may include MQTT communication, telemetry storage, dashboards, APIs, automation workflows, notifications, remote device management, device sharing, workspace collaboration, integrations with third-party services, and future software capabilities introduced by the platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When users create or manage an account on CircuitDigest Cloud, we may collect and store information including:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Profile photograph
• Profile description
• Authentication credentials

User authentication may be performed using email/password login or supported third-party authentication providers. Passwords are securely hashed and are not stored in plain text.

2.2 Device and Telemetry Information

Users may connect internet-enabled hardware devices to CircuitDigest Cloud. Information stored or processed may include:

• Device names and identifiers
• MQTT topics
• Sensor readings and telemetry
• Relay states and device states
• Automation logs
• Location data explicitly transmitted by devices or users
• Uploaded files, images, and associated metadata
• Workspace, sharing, and collaboration information

MQTT payloads transmitted through the platform may be stored in raw form for platform functionality, debugging, telemetry visualization, automation processing, and related services.

We may use analytics and monitoring tools, including Google Analytics, to understand platform usage, improve system performance, monitor stability, analyze feature usage, and enhance the overall user experience.

4. MQTT and Device Communication

CircuitDigest Cloud uses MQTT and related communication protocols to facilitate communication between connected devices, applications, dashboards, and integrations.

MQTT access is restricted to authenticated users and authorized devices. Device access credentials may be generated using token-based authentication mechanisms.

MQTT communication may be encrypted using industry-standard encryption and transport security technologies where applicable.

Users are solely responsible for the security, configuration, deployment, firmware integrity, networking, and physical safety of their connected hardware devices and systems.

Users must not transmit confidential financial information, medical information, passwords, personally sensitive information, or other regulated data through MQTT payloads or telemetry streams unless appropriate safeguards and encryption are independently implemented by the user.

5. Integrations and Third-Party Services

CircuitDigest Cloud may support integrations with third-party platforms, automation systems, AI-powered services, smart assistants, APIs, communication providers, analytics providers, payment processors, and related external services.

When integrations are enabled by users, certain information such as device metadata, device states, automation events, commands, or account-related information may be exchanged with the selected third-party service as required for the integration to function.

Users may revoke or disconnect supported integrations through account settings or the corresponding third-party service where applicable.

Third-party services operate independently and may have their own privacy policies and data handling practices.

6. Notifications and Communications

CircuitDigest Cloud may allow users to send or trigger notifications through email, SMS, messaging platforms, webhooks, or other supported communication channels.

Such notifications are initiated and configured by users. We do not independently generate marketing communications on behalf of users without consent.

Users may manage or disable notification preferences through platform settings where supported.

7. Payments and Billing

CircuitDigest Cloud is currently provided free of charge, subject to platform usage limitations and rate limits designed to protect service reliability and prevent abuse.

If paid services or subscriptions are introduced in the future, payment processing may be handled by third-party payment processors. CircuitDigest Cloud does not store full payment card information on its servers.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Data stored through CircuitDigest Cloud, including telemetry, logs, MQTT payloads, and related platform data, may be retained for a maximum period of 30 days unless deleted earlier by the user.

Users may delete devices, telemetry, account data, files, dashboards, or related information directly through the platform dashboard or account settings where such functionality is available.

Deleted data is not intentionally retained in backup systems after deletion.

9. Sharing and Collaboration

CircuitDigest Cloud may allow users to share devices, dashboards, workspaces, APIs, telemetry, or automation systems with other users or collaborators.

Users are solely responsible for managing permissions, access control, and visibility settings associated with shared resources.

We are not responsible for data exposure, misuse, or unauthorized access resulting from user-configured sharing settings or collaboration permissions.

10. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information stored or processed through CircuitDigest Cloud.

Security measures may include encrypted communication, restricted internal access controls, password hashing, authentication systems, rate limiting, and API protection mechanisms.

However, no internet-based platform, communication system, or storage infrastructure can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with internet-connected systems and cloud-based services.

11. Acceptable Use and Platform Restrictions

CircuitDigest Cloud must not be used for unlawful activities, spam distribution, unauthorized surveillance, network attacks, harmful automation, abusive behavior, or activities that may disrupt platform operations or third-party systems.

The platform is not designed, certified, or intended for use in life-support systems, emergency systems, medical devices, industrial safety systems, hazardous environments, critical infrastructure, or other mission-critical applications where system failure could result in injury, property damage, or loss.

Users deploying CircuitDigest Cloud in automation or control systems are responsible for implementing appropriate supervision, safety mechanisms, redundancy, and fail-safe protections.

12. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of their accounts and authentication credentials
• Securing connected devices, firmware, APIs, and networks
• Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Reviewing data transmitted through connected devices
• Managing access permissions for shared resources
• Using the platform in a safe and responsible manner

13. Children's Privacy

CircuitDigest Cloud is not specifically directed toward children. Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the platform complies with applicable laws and parental or guardian supervision requirements where relevant.
